I am on my way to Canada today to pick up my mother for our autumnal migration South. It will take 2, maybe 2.35, days to drive to Savannah from Fort Frances, Ontario. I’m not sure exactly because this year my mother no longer has her sidekick, Berkley her Golden Retriever. He passed away suddenly a few months ago from a burst spleen. As much as I complained about having to wait for her to get him ready and fed every morning before we drove out and all the stops we had to make to let him pee, getting to Savannah a half day early is not worth the loss.
It is going to be a very quiet winter without him. But at the same time Mom and I may actually get more done, like traveling.
So, I didn’t grab one of the poems out of my binder when I was packing. There was so much more for me to deal with at the time. This weekend, once I have Mom settled in, I will look at pulling one out and trying to get on a Sunday/Thursday schedule for posting.
Cheers, and have a wonderful rest of the week.
